Dawn A. Nee
Ms. Nee Is a graduate of University of Baltimore, with high honors in Jurisprudence, and the University of Baltimore School of Law, Juris Doctorate with honors, with a concentration in Family Law and Trial Advocacy. She was a staff editor of the Law Forum Journal and participated in the Family Law Clinic program for two years as a student attorney and mediator. She participated in and won the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition’s at the University of Baltimore two consecutive years, moving on to regional competitions. Ms. Nee also worked as an intern in the Baltimore County Circuit Court for Judge Daniels.
Ms. Nee is very active in assisting in the formation of the Carroll County Collaborative Professional group, and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Family Law Section, Carroll County Bar Association and Baltimore County Bar Association. She is a co-founder of the University of Baltimore School of Law’s Family Law Association, a group designed to further educate law students in the area of family law. She is a trained, court-approved, mediator and has helped to critique those learning to mediate at the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. Ms. Nee is trained in Collaborative Law, which provides options to clients seeking a different approach to divorce or custody matters than traditional litigation. Ms. Nee even volunteers at the Carroll County Pro Se clinic and the Baltimore County Lawyer Referral Service.
Ms. Nee has an Associate of Science degree in Psychology, focusing on the normal and abnormal development of children and adolescents. She worked and gathered additional training as a child care provider for several years, helping her to provide a unique insight into the needs of children. She has volunteered as a PTA board member, softball coach, 4H leader, 4H fair board member, 4H judge in public speaking, and as the Vice President on the Baltimore County Extension Advisory Council.
